§ 01 What it solves

A credit card statement is built for compliance, not for understanding. Installment plans come mixed in with the month's charges, subscriptions hide among purchases, the payment gets counted twice, and the bank reverses a purchase three days later only to re-post it in installments. SmartSpendly reads your bank's PDF, spreadsheet or OFX and separates all of that, because every one of those things changes how much you think you spent.

§ 02 What it includes

  • It reads your bank's statement

PDF, Excel, CSV, OFX, text or ZIP. It recognizes the bank from the file's format and pulls the transactions without you typing anything.

  • Share straight from your bank app

From your bank, Share → SmartSpendly, and the statement goes right in. No trip through Files.

  • Installment plans, separated out

It reconstructs the whole plan from the installments showing on the statement: how much you've paid, how much is left and until when.

  • The purchase that turns into installments

The bank posts the full purchase, reverses it days later, and re-posts it in monthly parts. The app recognizes all three and doesn't count it three times.

  • Subscriptions you'd forgotten

It spots the charges that repeat every month and groups them. They're the ones nobody cancels because nobody sees them.

  • Duplicates and transfers

The card payment counted twice, or a transfer between your own accounts counted as spending. Both get flagged on their own.

  • Tax invoices against your card

It cross-checks your invoices against the charges and answers the two April questions: what you spent without an invoice, and what you invoiced that never showed up.

  • Credit health

How much of your limit you're using, how your payments look and how close you are to the cutoff.

  • Everything can be undone

Every import leaves a trail: which file, which card, which transactions came in. If something went wrong, it reverses whole.

§ 03 Who it's for

For anyone with several cards who wants to know where the money goes without typing in a single transaction.
